Gary is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and has worked in the emergency room, community medicine and in managed care. He has worked with many patients who, despite coming to the emergency room for a physical condition, also need help with mental health concerns. He has an interest in public health, health policy, health equity and cultural competency in health care. Dr. Gary understands the complexity of the cultural context in which health care is delivered. He has done voluntary medical missions in Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Grenada, Haiti and Guyana in South America. He has a broad perspective in health care gained by personal, academic and professional experience.
He is a graduate of Amherst College, Massachusetts, and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, New York. He also holds a Masters in Public Health in Healthcare Policy from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, and a MBA in Healthcare Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He lives with his family in Connecticut. In his spare time he writes, and listens to music of all genres.
